Da Vinci has long been regarded as the epitome of the ideal “Renaissance man,” especially because of his status as a humanist scholar. Da Vinci’s wide array of skills and his intellectual abilities added to his artistic achievements and made him one of the preeminent artists of the Renaissance and, according to Giorgio Vasari, a quasi-godlike figure.
