Title

Mona Lisa

Description

Leonardo da Vinci represents the status of Renaissance artists as humanist scholars. Along with his prolific artistic talents, Leonardo also had skill as a scientist and engineer. He observed nature with insatiable curiosity and provided a legacy of sketches detailing his ideas about science and engineering, as well as his artistic prowess. Da Vinci has long been regarded as the epitome of the ideal “Renaissance man,” especially because of his status as a humanist scholar. Da Vinci’s wide array of skills and his intellectual abilities added to his artistic achievements and made him one of the preeminent artists of the Renaissance and, according to Giorgio Vasari, a quasi-godlike figure.
